Ibidun Allison popularly known as “Amebo," a name she got when she was casted in one of Nigheria’s most popular TV shows - The Village Headmaster in the 80s and 90s. Her incredible performance as Amebo created a space for her in the minds and hearts of millions of Nigeria, which continued even after the show ended.⁣⁣

Ibidun initially wanted to become a pharmacist but fell in love with dance and drama after visiting the Late Pa Ogunde who was the pioneer of the Nigerian entertainment industry.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣

She began her career as a Radio/Library Attendant with the WNTV/WNBS in 1960, which was where she got her first acting opportunity as part of a four-man group which staged the first live drama on television. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣

Her hunger for knowledge and growth earned her a Federal Government scholarship to study Drama, Broadcasting and Scriptwriting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Ibidun Allison also attended the London School of Music, trained with the BBC, and studied TV Production at the London School of TV Production. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣

She continues to receive honors and accolades for her contributions to the the television, arts and broadcasting industry for more than 30 years.  In recognition of her contribution to the community, she was conferred with the title of Otun Iyalode of Ode Remo in Ogun State.⁣⁣
