First woman to become the queen in a male-dominated society.
Expanded the territory of the Hausa people of north Africa to its largest borders in history spanning the traditional east-to-west trans- saharan axis.
Led an army of 20,000 soldiers to numerous battles and introduced metal armors.
Created walls around the city of Zaria providing psychological and physical security.
She died during a military campaign battle at Atagara in 1610.
