The She-EO dream began with a day dream in class at the University of Oxford in 2014. While waiting for a session to begin, Tope Fajingbesi began imagining how powerful and impactful a similarly purposeful gathering of women of African descent would be. The ideas began to flow, and she eagerly scribbled them down! She dreamed about creating a safe platform to break barriers and speak truthfully about obstacles that keep women from thriving. The ideas were great, however, execution wouldn’t happen until the first She-EO on August 19th, 2017. But once the train left the station on that beautiful Fall day in August, there was no stopping the movement. A global mission was born!

She-EO is a unique gathering of the most determined and diverse women of African descent. It is a powerful, soul inspiring and life transforming experience for purpose driven women. It is a talk-show style experience, which features experts and “battle tested winners” whose stories, authenticity and experiences transform the lives of our audience, and inspire us to think about Money, Career, Impact, Love & Relationships, Health and Wellness, and Adversity from positions of wholeness and strength. The goal of She-EO is to provide safe platforms for women of African descent to retreat and discuss issues related to personal growth and community engagement. She-EO is not a career, business or educational conference, it is a unique platform for preparing and positioning women to take opportunities and challenges. We are breaking cultural barriers by having no hold barred discussions about issues that are "taboo" topics in many cultures and communities, because these barriers have to be broken so millions of women can live more fulfilling lives, and make better contributions in their communities.

In July 2018, the Mayor of Baltimore presented a very special Mayoral Salute to She-EO in recognition of our efforts to inspire and empower diaspora African women. The She-EO Stage is reserved for the most authentic women (and sometimes men) whose stories genuinely inspire and empower our tribe. Previous hot seat guests who have empowered women from the She-EO stage include the 50th Mayor of Baltimore, Catherine Pugh; Nigerian Television Icon, Ego Boyo; Former Executive of MTN Nigeria, Amina Oyagbola; Former Chairperson of Access Bank, Mosun Belo-Olusoga; The first Nigerian-American elected to office in America, Zulfat Suara; The first woman elected as Deputy Governor in Nigeria, Sinatu Ojikutu; Nigeria’s former Minister of Science and Communications Technology, Omobola Johnson; Professor and Chief Executive of Business School Netherlands International (Nigeria), Lere Baale.
