Woman Warrior on Wednesday: DR. STELLA AMEYO ADADEVOH
Comes from a lineage of patriotic nation builders. Her grand father,Sir Herbert Macaulay whose image appears on the Nigerian 1 Naira coin was a prominent politician and founding father of Nigerian nationalism who established the Nation’s first political party.
She was the first to alert the Nigeria Ministry of health when the influenza virus sub-type spread to Nigeria in 2012.
A patriotic woman who prevented a national catastrophe. She diagnosed Liberian National as Nigerian’s first case of Ebola in 2014 and paid the ultimate price when she quarantined the patient and personally took charge of situation.
Her relentless effort brought about the creation of the Ebola Emergency Operations Center by Nigerian Ministry of Health in Cctober 2014.
Dr. Adedevoh also left a great legacy. Her son, Bankole Cardoso, a Nigerian entrepreneur, co- founded Easy Taxi Nigeria in 2013 to ease movement within the city of L agos. Bankole was listed by Forbes as one of the 30 most promising young entrepreneurs in Africa.
